COLLEGE OF FOOD INDUSTRY

INTRODUCING TRAINING PROGRAMS AT COLLEGE LEVEL

1. FOOD TECHNOLOGY

Food Technology specializes in the fields of preservation, production and food processing, including maintaining and regulating processes in the food production line (beer, milk, seafood, sugar, confectionery ...); food processing and brewing; researching and developing new food products; sampling, inspection, evaluation and control of the quality of raw materials,semi-finished products and finished products in preservation and food production; developing food quality management records.

Graduates can work in the plants of processing, preserving and trading foodstuffs, food safety and quality control agencies, laboratories, advisory and training institutions in the field of food; work in restaurants and hotels as a food processor and bartenders; and work in hospitals, health facilities as a staff being responsible for nutrition, health and community nutrition.

2. FOOD QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Food Quality Management provides learners with knowledge and skills in food quality assurance and control in the food supply chain; quality control and assurance in food processing plants; preservation and trading in food; analysis, inspection and evaluation of food quality, hygiene and food safety inspection, counsel of nutrition, food quality and safety.

Graduates can work in plants producing and trading agricultural products and foodstuffs, laboratories, institutes of quality and hygiene assessment, food safety; state agencies in charge of food quality and safety, such as branches of the agro-forestry-fishery product quality management, departments and branches being responsible for managing the quality of agricultural products, training institutions and research institutes of food quality and safety consultancy.

3. SEAFOOD PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY

Seafood Processing Technology is a major which provides related knowledge & skills of processing & preserving seafood for students. They will be trained in operating seafood processing machinery, researching & developing new seafood products, valuating & controlling quality of ingredients, preserving ingredients & seafood products, setting up a file in quality control of seafood products, etc…

After graduation, learners can work in seafood processing & preserving premises, seafood businesses, quality control & food safety committee, Research Institute, Advisory Centre, Training Centre.                                                                          

4. QUALITY CONTROL ON FOOD AND FOODSTUFF

Students are trained to carry out some tasks such as arranging laboratories, preparing experiment tools, equipment, machinery, chemical substances needed in control experiments.

After finishing the college, learners can work in seafood processing & preserving premises, seafood businesses, quality control & food safety committee, Food Hygiene Committee, Advisory or Training Centre in the field of quality control.

5. BUSINESS ACCOUNTING

               Business accounting is a job which performs observation, measurement, calculation and notes of economical competence about the use of assets, materials, funds, turnovers, expenditures of businesses.            

Graduated students could undertake their work in production business, service commerce companies, banks, administrative organizations, and other social economic organizations referring to economic sectors in the national economy…Specific positions could be accountants, cashiers, storekeepers, social insurance staffs, medical insurance staffs…

6. BIOTECHNOLOGY

               Biotechnology equips students with knowledge and intensive skills in methods of ADN analysis, techniques of tissue cultivation and cell culture, rapid plant multiplication in vitro; reproduction and planting of edible mushrooms, medicinal mushrooms; application of microorganisms in food industry, agriculture, waste treatment, environmental protection, production of biological products for agriculture.

               Graduated students work in laboratories at training institutes; biotechnology research centers; microbiological technologies; processing manufacture factories of agricultural, food, pharmaceutical products; manufacture factories of biotechnology; consultancy and marketing centers of biological products at business units in terms of biotechnology.

7. ENVIRONMENT TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY

The Environment Technology Industry is  equipped with specialized skills in analyzing technology, analyzing and evaluating environment impacts, waste and emissions treatment technologies in environment pollution industry; consulting and applying knowledge of biotechnology; saving raw material and energy through cleaner production; minimizing risks to the environment and people.

After graduating from the field of environment technology, the learners work in laboratories at training facilities, environmental research centers, companies, factories, farms, schools, environment technology application and deployment centers, state management agency on environment

8. PLANT PROTECTION

The Plant Protection is equipped with specialized knowledge in investigating, discovering, estimating and developing procedures for the prevention of harmful organisms in common plants; principles, quarantine methods, taking sample, arranging reasonable cropping systems; using and protecting of soil in the direction of increasing fertility, increasing economic efficiency and protecting the environment

            After graduation, learners take on technical positions in the field of plant protection at facilities, agricultural specialized agency; participate in studying at research facilities; open a store of plant protection drugs on a commune or district scale.

9. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

A business administration degree provides learners with basic knowledge and skills of business management in production, marketing, sales, finance and human resources.

Graduators can work as clerks in operations, productions and marketing departments; sales representatives, credit officers, human resources employees in services and trading industries or secretaries in government. Especially, graduators can be self-employers or operations managers after a certain working period of time.

10. HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

Hospitality management is the course which provides students with professional knowledge in lodging, restaurant and conference management. Students are also trained practical skills in the areas of front office, restaurant, housekeeping, catering operations and conference services.

After graduation, students can work as receptionists, banquet employees, housekeepers. Depending on ability, practical experience, working and hotel types, learners are qualified to undertake higher work positions such as front office, housekeeping or small hotel managers.

11. TOURISM AND TRAVEL MANAGEMNT

Tourism and travel management will provide you professional knowledge and skills in tourist industry like tourist guiding, managing and running tourist companies and organisations. Besides, it helps students build professional working manners and develop supplementary skills as communication, data collecting and processing, problem solving and team work.

Graduators can work as travel agents, tourist guides, tour sales agents and consultants.  Additionally, they can find jobs in recreation centers, entertainment companies, fairs, exhibitions and events organisations.
